Dave TurnbullWho am I? David Turnbull, Director of Design Centric Ltd, father of two beautiful girls and husband to techy wife Jane.  I grew up in the leafy home county of Buckinghamshire where I also worked as a graphic designer for some years. I graduated in Promotional Graphic Design and Multimedia in 1986 and worked in central London as designer/producer in the film and audio-visual industry.

That was fun – we were working with some of the first computer generated graphics systems, and conventional film techniques. Our output was mainly audio visual presentations for product launches, so there was a fair bit of staging technology thrown in as well – lasers, lights, pin registered 48 projector systems, smoke, mirrors the lot!

Around 1989 I freelanced as a Graphic Designer, working principally in printed collateral; glossy brochures, direct mail and advertising.  Shortly afterwards I met up with a fellow commercial Interior designer and joined him in building up a mid-weight full-service design and marketing agency in Ascot, Berkshire.  At around the same time I also set up another business to bring in some of the first DTP systems. This ran along side the design business replacing our long in the tooth typesetters. This proved to be a very successful venture and eventually the two companies merged.  We worked together for fifteen years and employed about 21 design and account management staff.

In 2004 I started Design Centric Limited, a full-service design and marketing agency focused on the new wave of marketing communication technologies – as well as maintaining the traditional!

Technology has hugely changed our communications environment. The requirement to keep up-to-date with new technologies and opportunities has never been so paramount. Fortunately, I have two young daughters that keep me focused on the latest gadget and in contact with the next web savvy generation!

My passion for design runs through all that we do. My mission is to help organisations apply the latest communication and marketing principles to their marketing strategy – to keep ahead – be seen – be heard – and ultimately take pole position. All beautifully tailored to promote their company brand.

I continue to work with many large organizations across a variety of sectors – from FMCG to IT. I also work with many smaller businesses and start-ups, helping them to establish a brand and deliver a communications strategy.
